About me
I believe in co-creating a space where clients are seen and heard unconditionally, where they can explore and gain a better understanding of themselves and their circumstances and feel better equipped for the challenges ahead. I am supportive and challenging with the aim of empowering, and my approach is caring, warm, and empathic. I offer a curious and non-judgemental space where clients feel comfortable to open up. Integrative in nature, I understand that each person is unique, and so I draw from a variety of elements, according to the individual’s needs to help them flourish into the person they want to be.
My background
My background is in education where I developed my active listening skills and learnt the value of autonomy, resilience and emotional intelligence. Thanks to my continued rapport with children and their families in different roles, I learnt the importance of building nurturing and meaningful relationships that enabled me to see the person holistically. My work in the public and private education sector means that I am understanding of different needs and expectations, and I am familiar with the demands of a pressurised environment.
I am also a linguist and, as such, I am appreciative of verbal and non-verbal communication. I love encountering different languages, traditions and communities. All this, alongside my personal experience of building a life in another country, means that I can understand the significance of culture and family background, change, loneliness, life transitions, adaptation, and acceptance.
